Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

OSPRE Nigeria (the "Platform") is a Federal Government of Nigeria initiative operated under the Office of the National Security Adviser. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit osprenigeria.gov.ng or use any of our platform services. By using the Platform, you consent to the data practices described in this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect information that you provide directly to us, such as your name, email address, phone number, organisation, and the content of messages you send via our contact form. We also automatically collect certain technical information when you visit the Platform, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited. This information is collected for security monitoring, analytics, and service improvement purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

Information collected is used to: respond to your inquiries and partnership requests; verify identity and manage access for authorised platform users; monitor and improve platform security and performance; send operational communications and alerts relevant to your role; comply with legal obligations under Nigerian law; and conduct internal research and analytics to improve national resilience outcomes.

4. Information Sharing

OSPRE Nigeria does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with other Federal Government agencies and state government counterparts as required for coordination of resilience and security activities. We may also share information with international development partners under the terms of formal partnership agreements, subject to applicable data protection laws. We will disclose information when required by law, court order, or lawful request from a competent authority.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS), access controls, audit logging, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including satisfying legal, regulatory, or reporting requirements. User account information is retained for the duration of platform access and for a period of seven years thereafter, consistent with Federal Government record-keeping requirements.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable Nigerian law, you have the right to request access to personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your information where we have no lawful basis for continued retention; and object to the processing of your information in certain circumstances. 8. Cookies

The Platform uses essential session cookies to maintain your login state and ensure platform security. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You may configure your browser to decline cookies, but this may affect your ability to access authenticated areas of the Platform.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email and will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
