Terms of Use
Effective Date: 1 January 2026 · Last Updated: 21 May 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the OSPRE Nigeria platform at osprenigeria.gov.ng (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and all applicable Nigerian laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this Platform. OSPRE Nigeria is a Federal Government of Nigeria initiative and these Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
2. Platform Access and Authorisation
Access to certain areas of the Platform is restricted to authorised users. Authorised access is granted by OSPRE Nigeria on the basis of verified government, institutional, or partner credentials. Unauthorised access to restricted areas of the Platform, or any attempt to circumvent access controls, is a violation of these Terms and may constitute an offence under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015.
3. User Responsibilities
Authorised users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for all activities that occur under their accounts. Users must not share login credentials, access the Platform from unsecured networks when handling sensitive data, use the Platform for purposes other than those for which access was granted, or attempt to access data or functions beyond their designated permissions.
4. Permitted Use
The Platform is made available solely for the purpose of supporting national crisis prevention, resilience coordination, and early warning activities as mandated under OSPRE Nigeria's enabling framework. Commercial use, reproduction of Platform content for distribution, or use of Platform data for purposes unrelated to national resilience and security is strictly prohibited without written authorisation from OSPRE Nigeria.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform — including text, data, graphics, reports, and software — is the property of the Federal Government of Nigeria or its licensors and is protected under applicable intellectual property laws. Government-produced research and policy documents may be reproduced for non-commercial purposes with appropriate attribution to OSPRE Nigeria. Contact info@osprenigeria.gov.ng for licensing inquiries.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. OSPRE Nigeria makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or availability of Platform content. Early warning indicators and risk assessments provided through the Platform represent intelligence products subject to inherent uncertainty and should be interpreted by qualified professionals.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, OSPRE Nigeria and the Federal Government of Nigeria shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of or inability to use the Platform or its content.
8. Reporting Obligations
Authorised users who encounter security vulnerabilities, data irregularities, or suspected breaches must report these immediately to info@osprenigeria.gov.ng. Users who discover information suggesting imminent threats to life or security must follow applicable escalation protocols and notify relevant authorities.
9. Termination
OSPRE Nigeria reserves the right to terminate or suspend platform access at any time, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms or for operational reasons. Upon termination, all obligations under these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Federal High Court of Nigeria.
